Music & Community

Skagit Symphony is committed to serving the community, and particularly its youth, by making classical music available at a reasonable cost to everyone. Our outreach programs are continually evolving as we find new ways to allow audiences and musicians to hear and participate in performances. We welcome suggestions from community organizations interested in collaborative efforts as well as from individuals who would like to help increase the involvement of the orchestra in the community.

College Student Music Program

College students who are studying music may play with the orchestra in Skagit Symphony concerts upon obtaining the Music Director’s approval. The Symphony encourages collegiate members to perform either for one concert or for a season. College student players can sometimes receive academic credit for their participation. Students who are interested in this program should contact Music Director Roupen Shakarian at music@SkagitSymphony.org

Young Soloists

Young musicians with talent are often invited to become soloists with the Symphony.
