This new Fall fundraiser was a fabulous fun new event, this past October.

There were 35 silent auction items, a fun PDQ Bach piece played by Symphony members, an entertaining improv group, and we raised lots of money to support the Skagit Symphony’s education programs.

Thanks to all who came, enjoyed and contributed this year.  The Symphony Appreciates Your Support! programs for children, students, and adults.

Skagit Symphony Mission

Skagit Symphony’s primary mission is to contribute to the growth and appreciation of classical music in the community by performing a repertoire to the highest standard. The Symphony’s mission is realized with a seasonal series of four concerts plus the School and Family concerts.

Skagit Symphony’s School and Family Concerts

The Family and School Concerts were created many years ago.  Their mission is to expand the knowledge of classical music and to encourage curiosity and interest not only in the music, but in the sounds of instruments,  the composers, and a little history of the period.  All learning materials for these concerts are on the Education page of the website.

At the School concerts in late January, arranged by the schools and symphony,  the conductor introduces the instruments and explains the music. The skilled volunteer orchestra enjoys performing these works for students.

The Family Concert happens on the Sunday immediately following the School Concerts.  The Family Concert is a nominal $1 ticket for children and students, and $10 for parents.
