Garden Tour 2011

Skagit Symphony appreciates support for tour
Skagit Symphony would like to thank everyone who helped to make the fourth annual Gardens of Note tour on Sunday, June 26 such an enjoyable event. This fundraiser helps to support the symphony’s concert season and especially its youth program.
Our thanks go to the Anacortes garden owners who worked hard to prepare their spectacular gardens for the tour: Bob and Carolyn Cochran, Wanda and Lindsey Faller, Phil and Clintena Hall, Bunny and Lonny Heiner, Jackie Heinricher and Guy Thornburgh, Vicky McNeil and Paul Dinnel and Helga and Thad Wakeman.
Thank you also to Lakeside Industries for the use of their parking lot and to Chris Terrell for assisting with arrangements for the start of the tour at How It Works/Heart of Anacortes. We thank all the volunteers who gave generously of their time hosting at the gardens, driving shuttle vans, directing parking, and most importantly, acting as symphony liaisons with the garden owners.
Our sponsors this year were the city of Anacortes and the Anacortes Arts Festival.
Last but not least, thanks to the musicians who provided wonderful music in each garden to enhance the experience of everyone who visited.

Sunday, June 26, 2011
10 am to 5 pm
Tickets: $25
Tickets are available with credit card payment online through Brown Paper Tickets or with payment by check by downloading and returning the form.
ADVANCE TICKET PURCHASE RECOMMENDED
We will send you a map with descriptions about the gardens after you have purchased your ticket.
The gardens on the self-guided tour are as different as the flowers and shrubs they contain. Stroll through the expansive Asian-inspired private garden of the owners of Boo-Shoot Nursery and enjoy views of Campbell Lake. Enter through the gate created with traditional Japanese joinery and walk though an exquisite Japanese style garden. Nearer to town, stop and smell the roses cascading over the fence of an 1892 Victorian garden.
On the day of  the event, information about the tour and Will Call tickets may be obtained at How It Works at 1014 4th Street (corner of O Street) in Anacortes. Everyone is invited to enjoy the music and refreshments outside in the garden at The Heart of Anacortes located at How It Works. There is no charge for admission. You may buy tickets for the tour, enjoy a picnic, participate in a raffle, and meet Anacortes author Jane Billinghurst, who will sign copies of her recently published book, “The Armchair Book of Gardens.”
